Kathleen Marie Jensen

Kathleen Marie Jensen, affectionately known as Leen to her family and Kathy to her friends, passed away in peace and tranquility on June 1, 2024, in Salem, Oregon. Born to Andrew Jensen and Delphine Gooley, Kathy grew up in Gervais, Oregon, where she graduated from Gervais High School in 1976.
Kathy had a long career in retail, where she met many co-workers who evolved into close, long-standing friendships.
Kathy's love for her kitties, including her beloved Smudge, was well-known. She had a passion for travel and cherished trips to Europe with her nieces Rebecca and Angela and trips to Uruguay. She also enjoyed floating on the Silverton Reservoir, listening to The Rolling Stones, was an expert couponer, and a savvy bargain shopper. Her warm and genuine nature made her a beloved figure among family and friends, and she delighted in spoiling everyone's children.
For nearly 20 years, Kathy shared her life with her companion, Jon Dunn, who preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by her sisters, Marianne Paradis and Karen Jensen, as well as 4 nieces, Rebecca, Angela(John Kraemer), Kristyn(Josh Prockish) and Janaye, 2 nephews Brian(Elizabeth Custor) and Andrew, 4 great nieces Kalei, Charlotte, Gabriella, and Emma, and 2 great nephews Andrew and Baby Boy Kraemer who will miss her dearly.
A family celebration of Kathy's life will be held on June 29th. Please contact the funeral home for more details.

Kathy will be remembered for her quiet warmth, her love for her family and pets, and her adventurous spirit. Her genuine kindness and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
