Kathleen Ann Langway, born Kathleen Ann Spellman on June 25, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 70 in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Kathleen was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and loyal friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kathleen was a devoted mother to her children, Brooke Langway and Jonathan Diaz. She also had a special affinity for all children and dedicated a lot of her time and resources to any child in need. Kathleen was a true fighter, unapologetically herself, and known for always doing things on her terms. Her incredible sense of humor, charm, and feistiness, along with her quick wit, will leave lasting memories and smiles on the faces of those who loved her.
In her career, Kathleen served as a dedicated paralegal for Richard Barton Attorney at Law, where she contributed her knowledge and expertise for many years. Later, she took on the role of a secretary at Brothers Auto Body, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.
Kathleen is survived by her children, Brooke Langway and Jonathan Diaz, her sister Maureen Ward, her brother-in-law Roy Ward, her sister-in-law Christine Spellman, her nieces Kristine Ward, Rachael Spellman, Eryn Spellman and Kara Spellman, her nephews Roy Ward Jr., Thomas Spellman, Nicolas Spellman, and Zachary Spellman, and her great-nieces and great-nephews Samantha Ward (her guppy), Lillyana Henri, Maximus Beek, Chase Ward, and Jocelyn Ward.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Claire Lynch (Clifford), and her brothers Richard Spellman Jr. and Robert Spellman. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held in March in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where Kathleen grew up.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Children Incorporated at https://childrenincorporated.org/ or the American Lung Association.
Kathleen Ann Langway will be remembered for her love, strength, and dedication to her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
