Kathleen "Kathy" A. Sacotte, age 69, lovingly nicknamed "Red", of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
A celebration of life took place on June 11, 2023, at Mickey's Tip-Up where family and friends were able to celebrate her friendships, wonderful life, and giving nature.
Kathy was born on July 31, 1953, to Clayton and Geraldine (Paye) Tilkens in Green Bay, WI. She graduated from Preble High School and went on to pursue a 30+ year career with ShopKo where she wore many hats and worked at various roles throughout her career. She retired from ShopKo Optical in 2011.
Kathy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a new great-grandmother and enjoyed softball, golf, bags, bowling, crafting, and gardening. Kathy's flower gardens were very well taken care of and were an inspiration to anyone who saw them. Kathy was the president of the women's league at Homestead Golf Course and previous president and then secretary of the women's bowling league at Bowlmor Lanes. She loved math and numbers and was the area event planner for her vast group of friends. Kathy was a staple at Lot 1 at Lambeau Field, along-side best friend, Gary Platt, for every Green Bay Packer home game for the last 10 years.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary Sacotte; daughter and son in law, Melanie and Scott Gretzon; grandchildren, Mason (Becca Demeter) and Bailey Gretzon; and recent addition to the family, great grandson, Grey Gretzon. Kathy is also survived by her mother, Geraldine Tilkens; and six siblings, Linda Brice, Tina DeRyter (Dean), Bruce Tilkens (Sue), Sandee Kroll (Wayne), Penny Duaime, and Brian Tilkens (Jenny); along with many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father; nephews, Griffith Duaime and Adam Tilkens; and brother-in-law, Larry Brice.
