It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathryn Ducote, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully at her home in Cottonport, Louisiana, on August 15, 2025, at the age of 77.
Kathryn was born on November 26, 1947, in Cottonport. She was a woman of unwavering strength and grace, cherished by all who knew her for her kindness and compassion. Kathryn’s life was devoted to her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Carl A. Ducote, and her sons, Toby Ducote (Rosina) and Guy Ducote, Sr. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Alyssa Shubert, Abigael Ducote Foster Worley, Jacob Ducote, Guy Ducote, Jr., Luke Ducote, Cameron Ducote, Kai Ducote, and Zoe Ducote, as well as her great-grandchildren: Brayson Shubert, Bowen Shubert, Eli Worley, Thomas Worley, and Jaxton Ducote. Kathryn will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Karen Descant and Glenn DeMars, and many nieces and nephews who found warmth in her love and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Teresa Prevot Juneau and Herman DeMars, and her brother, Larry DeMars.
To honor Kathryn’s extraordinary life and spirit, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport on Monday, August 18th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Fr. Charlie Ray. A time for visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 AM, followed by a Holy Rosary before the Mass.
