Kathryn Irene Meeks was born November 20, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan to the union of Sadie Moore and Leon Meeks Sr. Raised on Detroit's west side, Kathryn attended the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Mumford High School.
Kathryn met Aaron Lawrence Jr. soon after she graduated from high school in the late summer of 1986. Kathryn and Aaron's union birthed one child in 1993 and the two were united in marriage on October 22, 1996.
Kathryn will be remembered for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt who loved cooking, music, and her family. She will be remembered for her "beautiful mind", her immense intelligence, and her love of reading Stephen King and Lawrence Sanders novels. Most importantly, Kathryn enjoyed spending her days around her husband and daughter in the comforts of her home, watching television, discussing the news and world events, and simply being in the presence of the two she loved the most.
Kathryn Irene Lawrence passed on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 and was preceded in death by her mother, Sadie Meeks, her grandmother, Betty Moore, her sister, Parzeda Ross, her step-mother, Denise Meeks, and her mother-in-law, Eugenia Lawrence. Kathryn is survived by her loving husband, Aaron Lawrence Jr., her devoted daughter, Raven Lawrence, her father and brother, Leon (Denise) Meeks Sr. and Leon (Maria) Meeks Jr., her in-laws: Aaron (Eugenia) Lawrence Sr., Karen Lawrence, Andre (Markesha) Lawrence, Kenneth (Chelena) Lawrence, and a host of other close relatives.
