Kathryn Rains Phillips, 71 of New Whiteland, IN, passed away peacefully, January 2, 2025 in Kindred Hospice, Indianapolis. 

Kathryn "Kay" Rains Phillips passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 71 years of age. She was born to Martha and Clifton "Doc" Rains in West Memphis, Arkansas on June 1, 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents. As a young girl, the beloved matriarch was the May Day Queen in the West Memphis parade. She graduated from West Memphis High School in 1971. Kay earned her florist certification and worked as a florist for many years in West Memphis.
Family was the most important thing to her. Kay was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and animal lover. Kay is survived by her two daughters, Mischelle VanSciver and Sherrie Dugan; two sons-in-law, Kris Dugan and William VanSciver; four grandchildren, Danny Young, Mallory Whalen, Riahna VanSciver, and Julien VanSciver; and 2 great-grandchildren, Fox Wollam and Benjamin Magee. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Rains, and his wife, Janie Rains, and their children, Wendy and Kelly Rains. 

All are encouraged to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of loss.
