Kathryn A. Spando

Kathryn A. Spando (Lewers), 76, of Wadsworth, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on September 29, 2025.

Kathryn was born in Canton, Ohio to Leigh and Jacqueline Lewers. She attended Clearmount Elementary, and graduated from Hoover High School in North Canton, Ohio. She attended Kent State University, leaving when she was about to become a mother. She stayed home with her children for 17 years, giving her kids an idyllic early childhood.

Kathryn was a talented seamstress, making many of her own dresses, and mother-daughter matching dresses after her first daughter was born. After her children were grown, she opened her own alterations shop, which she operated out of her home. After moving to Henderson, Nevada, she was a member of a quilting ministry, which donated quilts to many people in need.

Kathryn loved animals, and had cats all her life. She also had one special dog, a German Shepherd named Shatzi. She also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Charles Spando; children: Amy Brannan Elsass (Eric), Joseph Brannan, and Jennifer Rodgers (Brian). She also leaves behind grandchildren, Andrew, Joseph, Jason and Elizabeth Elsass; Miles and Norah Rodgers, and Finley Brannan. She also leaves many cousins and her Aunt Bertie and Uncle Bill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leigh and Jacqueline Lewers; her brother, Mark Lewers; and a few cousins, aunts and uncles, that are all sorely missed.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 7, at 5-7 pm. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.
