Kathryn Ann Swanwick

ESPYVILLE- Kathryn Ann Swanwick, 84, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Born August 23, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Leona M. (Hinger) Breen and graduated from Bellevue High School.
Kathryn had a remarkable talent for capturing the beauty of the world around, often focused on the wildlife that surrounded her. Her stunning photographs earned her numerous local awards.
Music was another of Kathryn's great love; she found joy in playing music every opportunity she had. Her artistic spirit extended beyond photography and music as she also enjoyed painting, drawing, making homemade crafts and writing poetry.
Throughout her life, Kathryn embraced various roles in customer service, where her warmth and genuine love for people shone brightly. From her time as a Fotomate to her work in the cafeteria at West View Jr. High, and her friendly interactions at Martin's Jewelry Shop and Kmart Café, Kathryn approached each job with pride and enthusiasm.
Kathryn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of almost 50 years, Derk T. Swanwick; 3 children, Sally Ann Weger, Edward Weger and David Weger; 6 grandchildren, Brian Toia, Lindsay Pullen, Michael Toia, Anna Fronk, Abrielle Myers and Audrey Weger; 3 great grandsons, Lincoln Pullen, Maxwell Pullen and Brooks Fronk; 4 stepchildren, Janet Conant, Diane Weidinger, Mark Swanwick and Kelly Beggs as well as several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary Foster and her siblings, Jean, Gerry, Ruth, Claire and Thomas.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 10:00am-12:00pm and 2:00PM-4:00PM at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, OH 44003. No formal funeral service will be held. Inurnment will take place at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA at a later date and time.
