Susan Kozusko Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Inc, of Indiana on Jul. 12, 2024.
Susan (Herron) Kozusko, 81 of Indiana, died Thursday, July 11, 2024 at St. Andrews Village. Born in
Pittsburgh on April 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Herron.
She was the wife of Jerry Kozusko, whom she married on June 25, 1966.
Susan attended Bellevue High School, and later graduated from Penn State with a bachelor's degree in
early childhood education. While attending Penn State, she was a member of the Alpha XI Delta
Sorority, where she met her husband, Jerry.
Susan was a teacher and excelled with her preschool, Today Care Children's Center. She taught and
loved local children for many years.
She was a consummate hostess, always ready to meet with her "elegant friends" or to host a Penn State
tailgate. Susan was very witty and could tell a great story. She enjoyed reading and working on puzzles.
Susan loved her time with her grandchildren and always "insisted" that they have a mini-ice cream cone
before each meal.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Kozusko, of Indiana; and son: Matthew (Julia) Kozusko
of Avon, Colorado. Susan will be missed by her grandchildren: Riley and Hayden Kuhn and Serena and
Emory Kozusko; and brother: Jim (June) Herron.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Anna (RJ) Kozusko Kuhn, and
sister, Judy Herron Brown.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 14 th, from 2:30 until 4:30 PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home &
Crematory of Indiana. Her funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck,
officiating.

I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I first met Sue when you moved back to this area from New Hampshire, and she taught with me at the Burrell School at Blacklick. We carpooled together until she resigned when your first child was born. We were more recently reunited when you both came to the Silver Sneakers Class at the Y. My sincerest sympathies. Connie Hill
