Kathy Lynn Lyon of Eagle passed away unexpectedly at home on January 5, 2025. Kathy was born July 16, 1957 in Lansing to Billy and Elsie (Stringer) Chunn. She graduated from Waverly High School in the Class of 1975 and went on to work for Michigan Bell for twenty-seven years. After retiring, Kathy starting working for the Grand Ledge Public Schools. She worked in various capacities during her twenty years and loved the kids and helping them. She was a such a people person and enjoyed catching up with friends or making new ones. She was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. The most important thing in Kathy's life was her family. Whether it was attending school activities or sporting events for her grandkids, celebrating birthdays, or spending time together during the holidays and other special occasions. She was a loving wife, loving mother, and cherished her role as Grandma.
She is survived by her husband of over forty-seven years, Gary; daughters, Michelle (Matthew) Rivet and Ashley (Brian) Dimmick; grandchildren, Addison, Liam, Emma, Julianna, and Vivienne; sister-in-law, Julie Chunn; sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Lyon) and Steven Bartlett; nephews, Benjamin Bartlett and Kacey Chunn; niece, Elizabeth (Bartlett) Prouty; father-in-law, Kenneth (Claryce Sawyer) Lyon, and good friend, Barb McBeath. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Billy Chunn; mom, Elsie and her second husband, Dean Arnold; brother, Kevin Chunn, and mother-in-law, Rosemary Lyon.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, 11:00 AM at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
