Kathy Mathis, 72, peacefully passed away on September 14, 2024, in Spartanburg, SC. Born on February 11, 1952, in Spartanburg, to the late, Elwood Huskey and Mavola Parker Huskey,
Kathy was a woman who loved God, her family, and Gamecocks football.
A devoted wife, Kathy spent 53 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Lanny Mathis. Kathy shared two children with Lanny, as the proud mother of two daughters, Kristy (Bryan) Lands and Lana (Chris) Gilreath. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Ethan) Linder, Kelton, Kearse, Kollins, Kullen, Gracie (Austin) Cash, Ayla, and Dalton Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Randy Huskey.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, followed by the graveside service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307, with the Rev. Jerry Bryant and the Rev. Osmond officiating.
She leaves behind a legacy built on love, faith, and the simple joys of life.
