Kathy Moore Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kathy J. Moore on June 21, 2024 at the home of her son, Steve in Belvidere, IL. She passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her sons, Steve and Brad, and daughter-in-law, Carrie. She was 78 years old.
She was a beloved mother, a precious sister, a cherished cousin, a dear friend, and a wonderful "Mimi" to her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Kathy was born in Rockford, IL on November 5, 1945, the daughter of Marshall and Jane Danielson. As a longtime resident of Rockford, she attended East High School and was part of the school orchestra before graduating in 1963. She went on to marry Theodore "Ted" Moore (ne Venable) and start a family. After his passing in 1985, Kathy went back to school and graduated from NIU. She enjoyed a teaching career at Holy Family, Rockford Science & Technology Academy (Wilson Middle School) and West Middle School.
Kathy was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church for more than 65 years before its closing. She sang in the choir and served as the church secretary for many years. Kathy then became a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Kathy leaves behind her brother, Tom (Nicky) Danielson; her two sons, Steve (Carrie) Moore and Bradley (Jennifer) Moore; her grandchildren, Alexandra, Adam, Kaitlyn, Matthew, and Timothy; her great-grandson, Santiago; her cousins, Sue Van Grove and Timothy Budden; nephew, Mark (Laura) Snyder and their children, Luke and Liam; her dear friend, Wes Webb; and special stepson, Robert (Lorayne) Venable.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Snyder; and husband.
The love she had for her family is a light that will forever guide and comfort us. Kathy Moore will live on in our hearts and memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 at American Lombardi Society, 209 Olive St., Rockford, IL. Memorials may be made to Rock House Kids, 1325 7th St., Rockford, IL 61104. To share a memory or a condolence, please visit olsonfh.com.
