Kathy Crow Mundy, 71, of Black Mountain, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Kathy was born on January 22, 1954, in Buncombe County to the late Boyce and Mabel Arrington Crow. For many years she worked at Asheville Gastroenterology and MedStream Anesthesia before retiring with National Partners in Healthcare in May 2025. Kathy enjoyed helping others, sewing, cooking, gardening, and crafts. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. Kathy was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Tammy Crow.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Ricky Mundy; children, Kris Ledbetter (Cindy), Aaron Mundy, and Rebekah Holt (Bill); sister, Rita Nelon (George); grandchildren, Dawn Gosey (Stephen), Brandon Revis (Wiley), Kristin DeMotta (Chad), and Sommer Holt; great grandchildren, Brodie, Neely, Leni, and Westlyn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the funeral home with Rev. Ben Wilkerson officiating. A private family burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Evan Jones, Dr. Sarita Cross, Dr. Maithili Chitnavich, and the nursing staff with Advent Health, Mountain Kidney, Atrium Health – Charlotte, and the Infusion Center at Mission McDowell for their kindness, support and care.
