WEAVERVILLE – Kathy Yvonne Potts, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Kathy was born on July 30, 1950, in Sullivan County (Bristol) Tennessee and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life.
She was a teller at First Union Bank and was formerly a substitute teacher. She also worked for Webb Insurance and Weaverville Drug Store.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Lee Potts, Sr. and Helen Melvin Potts.
Surviving are her daughter, Brandi Mullinax and husband, Darren; brothers, Joseph Potts, Jr. and wife, Annette, and Tim Potts; three grandchildren, Brittany Hyer, Gage Mullinax, Megan Mullinax; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Payne officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park, Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
