On September 24, 2022, Mrs. Kathy Kay Williams-Webb said yes to the Angels that surrounded her bed along with her family at the Harbor Hospice House. She was born on October 23, 1958, to the union of Eddie J. and Betty Strong. She was raised in the loving home of her grandparents, Frank and Frankie McDonald in Muskegon Heights where she received her formal education with the Muskegon Heights Public School System. Kathy graduated with the MHHS Class of 1977. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Saginaw, MI where she attended Delta College in Bay City, MI. While there she worked at Genesee Packaging and later quoted on her Facebook page "Retired and Loving it". She moved back to Muskegon in 2001 where she became acquainted with Lawrence Webb, and they were married July 1, 2008.
Kathy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J. M. Blow, where she and her cousin, Giovanna, sang their first song, "Just The Two Of Us," accompanied by Sis. Nancy Langston (Gray). During her Christian walk, she became a member of Coleman Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Saginaw, MI under the leadership of Hurley Coleman, Sr. Upon returning to Muskegon, she joined the Holy Trinity Institutional C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of the Late Bishop Nathaniel Wells, Jr. She later attended the New Mount Zion MBC under the leadership of Rev. Allen Ray Bolton and FINALLY making her way back home to the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. where she at one time served as President of the Inspirational Worship Choir and remained a faithful member until her health no longer allowed it. Kathy sang with many choirs as a soloist down through the years, including the Jimmy Dowell Singers. Her passion and ministry were singing, as she was known as "our songbird" to everybody who knew her and had the privilege of hearing her often. A few of her favorite songs were: "I Never Lost My Praise," "I Won't Complain" and "I've Heard of a Place". She also enjoyed fishing with her husband and playing with her grandchildren.
Kathy leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Lawrence Webb of Muskegon, MI; two children: Damein (Alina) Williams of Saginaw, MI and Crystal Williams of Grand Prairie, TX; five grandchildren: DeAnthony Stanford of Indianapolis, IN, Ashland and Kaleb Stanford of Grand Prairie, TX, Angelo and Song Williams of Saginaw, MI; one great-granddaughter: Abigail Stanford of Indianapolis, IN; one sister: Glindia Strong of Norton Shores; one sister-in-law: Darlene Webb of Muskegon Heights; a special aunt: Patricia (Ricky) Todd; two nieces: Kenya (Andre) Zackery and Tiffany (Omar) Jones all of Muskegon, MI; a special cousin: Giovanna Johnson of Knoxville, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Beulah Baptist Church family.
