It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katie Mai Abernathy, beloved mother, grandma, and great-grandma, who peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on February 7, 2025, at the age of 95. Katie was a longtime member of Antioch First Baptist Church and dedicated her career to Aladdin for many years, touching the lives of many.
Katie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Carson Abernathy, as well as her parents, John and Beulah Morgan, and her siblings, Hugh, John, Marie, Margaret, and James.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Karen (Jimbo) Allen; granddaughters, Kim (Jeff) Warbritton and Kristi (Chris) Kain; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Rylee, and Carter Warbritton, Ansley, and Hudson Kain. She was a guiding light in their lives, and her love will continue to inspire and uplift them.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.
A service celebrating Katie's life will follow at 12:00 p.m., led by Brother Jud Hays.
Serving as active pallbearers are Carter Warbritton, Hudson Kain, Steve Hubbard, Joe Morgan, Danny Morgan, Bo Morgan, Steve Harding, and Mike Leming.
Honorary pallbearers include Dale Morgan, Butch Harding, and Matt Hubbard.
Katie's family extends their deepest gratitude for the love and support shown during this time. May her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her
