Katie Beth Munson

Katie Beth Munson, age 23 of Fairfax, VT passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024 after her courageous year long battle with cancer.
Katie was born on October 17th, 2001 to Major Munson and Kristina Woerner in Burlington, VT. She graduated from Bellows Free Academy Fairfax High School in 2020. While in High School she enjoyed playing soccer on the varsity team. Upon graduation Katie went on to study and pursue a degree in Nursing at Castleton University in Castleton, VT. Katie was always passionate about serving and caring for others which drew her to pursuing a career at Kid Logic Learning Center where she cared and educated young children everyday.
Katie adored her family and friends. Katie made everyone around her feel special and loved. Katie was full of life, love, and utmost bravery. Katie never gave up and persevered through anything that life threw her way. She was strong, courageous, fearless, and bold. She had the most amazing personality that anyone who knew her was drawn to. Katie loved to celebrate the people she cared about and she loved having a good time. She was always the life of any party. Katie lit up any room she walked in with her beautiful green eyes, her bright smile, and contagious laugh. Katie has touched so many lives during her 23 years. She has left an imprint on every person that they will forever carry with them for the rest of their lives. Katie especially leaned on God and her faith during her year long battle with cancer. Her strength and faith was inspiring to many. Katie Beth Munson, our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and auntie, will always and forever be remembered and loved unconditionally.
Katie is survived by her father Major Munson and his wife Jennifer, her mother Kristina Woerner and Jonathan Breda, her brother Theodore Munson, three sisters, Kelsey Schwaner and husband Tyler, Kari Munson, Khloe Munson, step sister Victoria Barney, several aunts and uncles, Denis Kennedy, Irman Munson, Heidi and Ned Connell, Gretchen Woerner, Karen and David Davis, Lindsay and Torri Blodgett, Mark and Celeste Woerner, Emerson Woerner, Blythe Kent, her cousins Sean Munson and his family, Brian Hamlin, Breanna Francis and her family, Jenna Francis, Chastity Finer, Niko Kennedy, Nikita Kennedy, Lily Blodgett, Violet Blodgett, Elizabeth Evans, Emily Evans, Issac Evans, Jacob Evans, Aaron Evans, Ivy Blodgett and her special buddy Maggie Mae.
Katie was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Sandra Capponi, maternal grandmother Donna Greame, maternal grandfather John Woerner, her aunts Tina Bessette, Brenda Devoid and her cousin Brandon Francis.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday December 12, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel. A funeral service will be held at Essex Alliance Church on Saturday December 14th at 11:00am.
