Kattie was born on January 13, 1941 in Greenville MS, a daughter of Kato and Hattie Mae Williams. They proceeded her in death. She was also proceeded in death by a baby sister. Accepting Christ at a young age and carrying her bible lessons throughout her life. She married Thomas Jenkins, Sr. on December 31, 1983 in Peoria IL.
Kattie is survived by her bonus children Anthony (Taunya) Jenkins of Peoria IL, Art Armstrong of Laurel MD, Debra Ervin and Denise Jenkins of Houston TX, Yolanda (Cecil) Gibson of North Little Rock, AR and Tonya Barnes of Peoria. As well as chosen daughters Eunice Wright and Mary Jones- Hughes of Peoria; her special helper Miking (Rabbit) Wright and one son Thomas (Spike) Jenkins Jr. proceeded her in death. As an only child she shared a special bond with her Brother in Law James (Mary) Jenkins of San Bernardino CA, Andrew (JoAnn) Jenkins and Aaron Jenkins of Jackson MS, and the Rev. Allen (Sharon) Jenkins of Gulfport MS; host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kattie retired as a courtroom bailiff from the Peoria County Courthouse after serving many years. She was formerly employed as nursing facility staff and assisted many with compassion and care.
Kattie loved her dogs from Benji to Piper and the many in between, riding motorcycles with her husband Shotgun.
She loved watching her westerns and watched Jimmy Swaggert weekly to feed her faith in the Lord as well as traveling to visit family back home in Mississippi and California.
Visitation will be Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10 am at Heaven's View Christian Fellowship Church, 602 W. Richmond Ave., Peoria, IL 61606. The funeral service will follow at 11 am at Heaven's View Christian Fellowship Church. Dr. Tony Pierce will officiate. Burial follows at Swan Lake Memory Gardens Cemetery, Peoria, IL.
