Kathleen M. "Katy" Devine, 87, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Saturday November 16, 2024 at St. Anne Home. She was born on January 8, 1937 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of (the late) Richard F. and Lurana (Miller) Golden. Katy graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of '55; after graduation she continued with college classes while working as an administrative assistant at Indiana Michigan Power. On July 30, 1966, Katy married Thomas J. Devine; Tom preceded her in death earlier this year, on January 7, 2024, after 57 years of marriage. In addition to her parents and her husband, Katy was also preceded by her sister, Shirley Barwiler.
She is survived by her children; Karen (John) Monroe, David (Panicha "Awe") Devine and Steven Devine, all of Fort Wayne; Michael (Victoria) Devine of Huntertown, Ronald (Karen) Devine of Marietta GA, and 13 grandchildren.
Katy was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and she was devout in her faith. She was also past president and past vice-president of Columbia Ladies. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who will be dearly missed.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday November 27, 2024, in St. Peter Catholic Church, 518 E. Dewald St. with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation is also on Tuesday from 3-7pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 3:00pm. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery. The family's preferred memorials are Masses, or to Bishop Dwenger High School for Tuition Assistance, online at https://bishopdwenger.com/Online-Donation, or by mail to Office of Development, Bishop Dwenger High School, 1300 E.
