Kay Burkhart Harrison, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on November 6, 2025. She was born on September 23, 1942, in Shippensburg, PA, the daughter of William H. and Vada (Rotz) Burkhart. She was a class of 1961 graduate of Shippensburg High School, and later, of the Harrisburg Institute of Medical Arts. Upon graduation, she worked as a member of the medical survey team for the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union at dress factories throughout Pennsylvania.
She and her husband, Norm Harrison, were married for 58 years and together they operated Harrison's Greenhouse for 26 years. She then worked at Good Hope Family Physicians until her retirement. She was a loyal member of the New Bloomfield United Methodist Church, serving with the choir, Life Bank, and numerous other committees.
She is survived by her son, Andrew (Angela) of New Bloomfield, and daughter Elizabeth Patton (Jason) of Warsaw, VA, and the stars of her life, grandchildren Charlotte and Grace Harrison, and Harrison, Jonah, and Christian Patton. Also surviving are her two sisters, Judy Kane (Bernie) and Connie Reddy (Pat) and several nieces and nephews. One sister, Yvonne Long (Ray) predeceased her. She loved her annual sister visits and cherished her times with those families.
Kay had a quiet and humble demeanor and was dedicated to her family, friends, and church. She loved deeply, gave selflessly, and served quietly with a heart that reflected Jesus. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, and singing.
A memorial service will be held at her church on West Main Street, New Bloomfield on Friday, November 14, 2025. Visitation at 1 PM with a service to follow at 2 PM. Contributions in her memory may be made to New Bloomfield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 56, New Bloomfield, PA 17068.
