Kay Johnson

Ellen Kay Johnson, 84 of Lima, passed away December 17, 2025, at Lima Convalescent Home.
Kay was born May 20, 1941 in Lima, to Wilbur and Ruth (McPheron) Brillhart, who preceded her in death. On November 6, 1976, she married the love of her life, Harry Johnson, who survives her in Lima. Even though they were married for 49 years, she was still his Bride.
Kay was a 1959 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She was a wonderful homemaker who took pride in keeping a neat and tidy house. Kay worked at Dr. Salinas' and Dr. Burns' offices and she was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and keeping her garden. Traveling with her husband brought her immense joy and she enjoyed her time wintering in Florida. Kay was an avid sports fan and she loved her Cleveland Indians, Michigan football, Xavier basketball and her husband brought her down to being a Cleveland Browns fan. Most of all, Kay loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Attending her grandchildren's sporting events brought her great joy and she was their biggest fan.
In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Bill) Young and Jill (John) Sreenan; son-in-law, Bill Bruce; grandchildren, Shayne, Nick, Connor, Chase, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Stryker and Jett, and her sister, Carol (Joe) Nichols.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Karmen Bruce.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at St. John Catholic Church in Lima with Father David Ross officiating.
Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
