William Garling Obituary
William "Bill" Garling, age 81, was called to the Lord at 4:38 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Bill was born August 19, 1944, in Lima, OH, to Eugene and Margaret (Dempsey) Garling, who both predeceased him.
Bill was a graduate of The Ohio State University and had also earned his master's degree. He was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing the guitar.
He is survived by sisters, Betsy Birtle of Lima, Mary (Curtis) Griffin of Cairo; sister-in-law, Linda Garling of Lima; nephews, Ryan Garling, Tyler (Cassandra) Griffin, Chris Ramsdell; and a niece, Elizabeth (Ben) Gordon.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, James "Jim" Garling; sister, Kathryn "Katy" Garling; and brother-in-law, Charles Birtle.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Gethsemani Cemetery. Father David Ross will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Allen County, 3606 Elida Rd, Lima, OH 45807.
