Kay Ann Osterland
Kay Ann Osterland, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Kay was born in St. Clair, Michigan, on December 26, 1944, to the late Russell and Violet Bassett. She married the love of her life, Richard Osterland, on April 23, 1966, in Marine City. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around love and family.
She was the devoted mother of three children-Jeff (Kelly), Jennifer (Andy), and Janel (José) and the proud grandmother of five cherished grandchildren: Abigail, Sara, Andy, Jacob, and Megan
Kay's greatest joy came from time spent with her loved ones. Whether baking homemade treats, reading a good book, knitting something special, or simply being together, she filled her home with comfort, tradition, and laughter. She was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is also survived by her sister, Deborah (Brad) Maxwell; her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Robert Osterland, Larry (Pam) Osterland, Jerry (Mary) Osterland, Ray Osterland, Anne (Hale) Walker, and Mary Jo (Alan) MacDonald; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home, 222 N. Main Street, Marine City, Michigan 48039. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blue Water Hospice Home, whose compassionate care brought comfort to Kay and her family. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Kay, please visit our Tree Store.
