KAYE FRANCES (GLASCOCK) KING, 87
TRANSYLVANIA, LOUISIANA
Cox Funeral Home
Lake Providence, LouisianaTRANSYLVANIA, LA - Kaye Frances Glascock King, lovingly known to most as Maw, 87, was called home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Kaye was born on March 3, 1938, in Monticello, Louisiana, to Herbert and Jewel Ragus Glascock.
On June 15, 1956, she married the love of her life, Gerald King, beginning a 68-year journey of devotion, partnership, and unwavering care.
Kaye was the proud mother of two sons, Kenneth and Keven. A lifelong member of Herringville Baptist Church, her faith was steadfast and deeply rooted. She lovingly supported her eldest son, Kenneth, when he answered his own calling to pastor at Old Midway Baptist Church.
Kaye had a special gift for making everything around her more beautiful. Whether it was a home, a flowerbed, or a moment shared with someone she loved, she added warmth and creativity everywhere she went. She graduated from Monticello High School and spent her working years serving her community in many roles, including driving the Bookmobile for the East Carroll Parish Library and working as a bookkeeper for Sales Finance, Tower Loan, and the East Carroll Parish Hospital.
Her hands were rarely still. She crocheted baby blankets, arranged flowers with care, tended flowerbeds, and brought life to every corner she touched. Growing up on a farm planted a deep lifelong love for animals. Over the years, Kaye raised chickens, peacocks, rabbits, ducks, geese, goats, and a long line of beloved dogs who were treated as members of the family.
The only thing Kaye loved more than her animals was her family. After retiring, she embraced her favorite role, full-time grandmother. To everyone who knew her, she wasn't just Kaye, she was Maw, the heart of the family. She cared for her own and others' children with the same tenderness, consistency, and joy. Her home was always full of food and love. She could feed an army for a week on pennies, yet somehow make every meal feel like you were being served a feast.
Kaye's life was one of quiet strength, generosity, creativity, and deep love. Her legacy will forever live on in the many lives she touched.
Kaye will be dearly missed by her children, Keven and Paula King, and Kim King; her honorary son, Wydette and wife Renee Williams; her grandchildren, Brittany and Greg Jones, Shelton and Ashley King, and Jewel King; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Holland, James, Samuel, Sarina, and Andrew Jones.
She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Gerald; her son, Kenneth; her parents, Herbert and Jewel Glascock; and her brothers, Pete Welch and Emmett "Mutt" Welch.
