It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kayla Joan Provo, age 33, of Cheboygan, who passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from complications of cancer.
Kayla was affectionately known as a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of family, friends, and many more whose lives she touched. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way that her life was lived. Kayla lived a life filled with love, laughter, kindness, friendship, and adventures. Her proudest joy was being with her children. She loved crafting, rustic camping, beach days, treasure hunts, trips, movie nights, outdoor events, and gatherings with family and friends.
Kayla is survived by her loving daughter, Lilah Mae Lynn, and son, Tanner Marsh; mother, Carol, and stepfather, Frank Tolstyka III; her father, Ronald "Scott" Provo; brother, Corey Provo; and niece, Lucy Provo. She also leaves her grandparents, Patricia and Ronald Provo, and Jacquie Tolstyka, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her best furry friend, Roman.
Preceding Kayla in death were her grandparents, Elmer and Joan Soullier, and Frank Tolstyka Jr., as well as her favorite aunt, Pearl.
Kayla had a profound impact on others and touched the lives of all who came to know her. Join us in a celebration of Kayla's life from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the home of her parents at 6601 Carey Road in Cheboygan. For those planning an expression of sympathy, cards and flowers can be sent to the same address and contributions for Lilah's and Tanner's future will be accepted at Kayla's celebration or at the Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union in Cheboygan.
There are no words to express how grateful and blessed we are to have family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who have prayed and supported us before and after Kayla's passing.
