Keith was born November 5th, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1962 his family moved to Olathe, Kansas where Keith lived until graduating from Olathe High School and entering Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Textile Chemistry. In 1990, Keith began a career with Farm Bureau Insurance in Olathe, Kansas, where he became a Sales Agent and soon a District Sales Manager, earning awards for being among the top two percent of agents. He remained with Farm Bureau from 1990 – 2015, advancing from sales agent to management positions, and later to the Director of Agency Support in Financial Services. During this time, Keith earned a Master's Degree from University of Phoenix and did his post graduate work with Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. In 2016, Keith returned to his beloved Clemson, South Carolina and textiles where he became the Director of National Accounts for Westpoint Home, advancing to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Westpoint Hospitality of North America.
Keith was a devoted husband, father, and Clemson football fan. He shared his love of fly-fishing with Boy Scouts earning merit badges and also volunteered with the Special Olympics. Some may be aware that Keith once held a position as a DJ on a local radio station in Kansas, reflecting his love of music. While golfing and cooking were special interests, Keith's greatest happiness was spending time with his family, nuclear and extended. He was kind and generous to all. I had the honor of working with Keith at Farm Bureau in Iowa. My oldest son was a huge Clemson fan and Keith was sweet enough to buy him a bunch of Clemson gear when he attended one of the games. My son was beaming when he got them. That was just Keith though. I was heartbroken to hear of Keith's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
