Keith G. McNett, age 92, was born on July 24, 1933, in Grant County, and he died on December 29, 2025, in Stoughton, WI. Keith was the second of eight children born to Virginia (Pearce) McNett and Guerdon McNett. When the family lived in the country, Keith enjoyed time outside with his siblings, and the family pony, Peanuts. Keith attended Benton Schools and graduated in 1951. He and his brother, Jerry, often drove to Cuba City to spend time with friends. That’s where Keith met Helen Alt, his future wife.

Keith and Helen married on December 28, 1954. They were married for 71 years. Keith and Helen moved to Madison, WI, where Keith studied auto mechanics. Their first child was born in Madison. Two years later, they moved to Beloit. Keith got a job with Wisconsin Power and Light Company, where he worked for his whole career

In 1960, Keith and Helen moved to Cassville, where they lived for more than 50 years. They raised their six children in Cassville. In his free time, Keith enjoyed spending time with his friends. They played cards, Keith was on a pool team, and part of a bowling league. Keith played golf for many years.

Keith loved watching sports. He loved the Wisconsin Badgers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers. He was an avid golf fan. Keith also loved the local sports, attending Cassville High School football, basketball, baseball, and track.

In later years, Keith enjoyed walking along the Mississippi River and riding his bicycle, Phil. He and Helen enjoyed going for drives, especially in Autumn, when they could admire the fall colors. Keith and Helen attended grandchildren’s school activities, plays, and sporting events.

Keith enjoyed spending time with his family, and he loved joking with them. His favorite time of the year was going to Wisconsin Dells in the summer with Helen, his kids, and grandchildren. The family tradition continued for 30 years.

Keith is survived by his wife, Helen, daughters Jeanine (Jerry) Hochhausen, Barb Dietrich, Marsha (Mike) Valentine, and Cathy Krohn, and his son Jim (Amy) McNett, his grandchildren: Melissa Valentine, Mandi (Doug) Frisque, Katie (Daniel) Jones, Becky Hochhausen, Jordan Dietrich, M (Sara) VanSteenbergen, Chandra Dietrich, Jyotika (Sebastian) Brady, Max McNett, Allison (Nick) Chenoweth, and Jillian McNett, his great-grandchildren: Jaylyn, Clayton and Chloe Jones, and Fallon and Fletcher Chenoweth, his brother, Stanley, and his sister, Janet, many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Karen (Darwin) Cushman, grandson, Daryl Dietrich, son-in-law, Mark Krohn, brothers: Jerry, Royce, Roger and David and sister, Phyllis.

Keith lived a long and healthy life. He was loved, and he will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Cassville with Deacon Bill Bussan officiating. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at St. Charles Catholic School following the burial.
