On Thursday, March 28th 2024, Keith A Peterson, loving husband and father of three passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Keith, born in August of 1952, was the youngest son of Harry and Helen (Hefter) Peterson of Covert, MI.
Keith graduated from Covert High School in 1970. In 1973 he joined the United States Air Force where he found his calling as a Flight Engineer for the in-flight refueling KC 10s. His love of flying was so great that after his retirement from the Air Force he transitioned into a civilian job, training the next generation of Air Force Flight Engineers for another 20+ years. It was while on leave during his time in the service that he met his wife of 40 years, Tommi (Martin) Peterson.
Keith had many hobbies. He was an avid motorcyclist, loved keeping up with the NASA space missions, and rambling around his farm, garden, and workshop. Most of all, Keith loved being surrounded by his family. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending his evenings watching his grandchildren explore the farm, building campfires to roast marshmallows, and sitting around talking with his children and the love of his life, Tommi.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Tommi Peterson, sons Doni (Christy) Peterson, Jodi Peterson, daughter Kaitlin (Yuji) Hairston, grandchildren Kris Blevins and Anna Peterson, Bella Peterson, Jerica, Yuji Keith, Sammi, and Miko Hairston, brother Greg (Nancy) Peterson, sister Linda Hadley, mother-in-law Patricia Decker, mother-in-law Dixie Martin, brother and sister-in-law Rick and Juanita Martin, sister-in-law Sandy (Darrell) Hinman, many beloved nieces and nephews, and cherished friends Ann and Daryl Spencer.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Helen Peterson, grandmother Bertha (Jacobs) Peterson, brother Steve Peterson, father-in-law Richard Martin, brother-in-law Charles Hadley, Aunt Jean (Mark) Marquardt, and great niece Eva Martin.
The family will be honoring Keith privately at a later date. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to The Eva Martin Project (www.theevamartinproject.org).
