Ted R. Dyekman, 82, passed away peacefully August 23, 2025. His husband and love of his life, Gary Moore was at his side.

Ted was born in Loveland, Colorado, the son of the late Gordon and Beth (Mitton) Dyekman. He has been a longtime resident of Harbert, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois.

He is a graduate of Northwestern University, earning a dual degree in Mathematics and Statistics. Upon graduation, he joined the firm of A C Nielsen, a global marketing research firm. He retired as a Senior Statistician after thirty-three years.

Ted and Gary met in Hawaii in 1982 and bonded immediately. They moved to Chicago shortly thereafter. With a group of investors, Ted purchased and restored a multi-unit building, converting the units from rental to condominiums. He and Gary spent their working lives in one of these homes.

During these years, they spent weekends in their second home in Harbert, Michigan. Ted was the landscape specialist, Gary the Chef de Cuisine. Many a dinner party lasted until the wee hours.

They enjoyed traveling, returning frequently to Hawaii, and spending a portion of winters in Puerta Vallarta. They also cruised the Mediterranean and Carribean Seas, and visited many European countries.

Ted was preceded in death by his brothers: Kent and Tom Dyekman. His survivors include nephews: Darren (Kathy), Dale (Sarah), and Steve (Colleen) Dyekman, and Todd Moore; nieces: Tracy (Charlie) Jokisch, and Cynthia Geiger; sisters-in-law: Joyce Dykeman, Louise Dyekman and Kim Moore; cousins: Dixie & Bob Barnes, and numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of dear friends.

Over the last two years, Ted and Gary were blessed by the assistance of Hospice Nurse, Becky, and Social Worker, Vivine. They will be forever grateful to these very special people.
