Keith Stahnke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Mar. 30, 2026.
Keith Howard Stahnke, 78, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away March 29, 2026. Born December 10, 1947, in East Cleveland, Ohio, Keith was the son of the late Howard and Sylvia (Pixa) Stahnke.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He then built a career as an electrical engineer, spending 28 years with Key Laser. He was known for his intelligence, strong work ethic, and remarkable ability to fix just about anything-he was proud of the fact that he never had to call a repairman for help.

Outside of work, Keith had a wide range of interests. He loved being outdoors -- boating, biking, camping, fishing, and shooting a bow and arrow. He was also passionate about bodybuilding and weightlifting. A member of the Valley City Flying Club, Keith had a love for aviation and the freedom it brought.

Keith will be remembered for his humor-he was funny, joking, and often sarcastic, with a sharp wit that left a lasting impression on those around him. He was a man who enjoyed life, stayed active, and found joy in both hobbies and the people he loved.

Keith was a man of deep faith. He and his wife, Ruth Ann, were members of Grace Baptist Church in Brunswick for over 30 years, followed by 15 years at Grace Missionary Alliance in Middleburg Heights.

Keith's memory will be cherished by his devoted wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann (Way) Stahnke; his children, Cain (Kim), Ryan, and Tyson (Cathy); his grandchildren, Alisha, Megan (Hunter), Andrew, Alexa, Olivia, Julia, Keli, and Maddie; and his great-grandchildren, Carson and Landon. He is also survived by his nieces, Dawn, Sheila, and Ruthie.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Joanne.

Please join the family for visitation from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, 3480 Laurel Road, Brunswick, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00. Keith will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Oasis of Hope in Medina or to Grace Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
