Mary Jane Shadi

Mary Jane Shadi, age 94, passed away peacefully and was called to the Lord on March 26, 2026. Mary was born to the late Edward and Mary (Pall) Kresse on December 24, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was an educational aide for 25 years at Kidder and Towslee Elementary Schools in Brunswick.

Mary was a devout and active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and assisted in the rectory. She was also a member of the Brunswick Knitting and Quilting Clubs, and St. Ambrose Women's Guild. She enjoyed casinos, country line dancing, and was a talented Hungarian cook and baker.

She was sweet, kind, thoughtful and known to have a contagious smile. She was friends with people of all ages, and no one was a stranger. Above all else, she cherished her family and the time she spent with them.

Mary is survived by her loving children Michael (Angie) Shadi, Diana (John) Shadi, and Shari (Bert) Shadi, grandchildren Kirk Shadi, Mark Shadi and Tori (Billy) Hankins, great grandchildren Gretchen, Blaze, Addie, Phoenix and Jasper, sister Cindy (Marc) Chanson and brother-in-law Ron Zak.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Julius in 2023, her parents, and sisters Betty Fanara and Margie Zak.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 6th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Rd, Brunswick, OH 44212. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Rd, Brunswick, OH 44212 (with 1- hour prior visitation from 9a.m. to 10a.m.) She will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Memory Gardens with her husband Julius.
