Frances Estella Hurlburt (Wagenseller) of Grafton, Ohio peacefully passed away on March 27th, 2026 at the age of 88 after battling with a long illness.
Frances was born in Trenton, New Jersey and graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1955. She went onto Nursing School at Cornell University and became a registered nurse. Frances enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed at the National Naval Hospital (Walter Reed Hospital) as a registered nurse. Following her career in the Navy she continued her nursing career which included working for the Cleveland VA., creating the Visiting Nurse Association in Mattoon, Illinois. After retirement Frances returned to Northeast Ohio and volunteered at Medina Hospital for several years.
Since high school, Frances had a love for music with playing the baritone horn in her high school band. She played several other instruments including the guitar. Locally she previously played in with the Medina Community Band and was a proud member of the Litchfield Community Band.
In addition, Frances was an active member of the Grafton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and was involved with the Medina Women of the Military.
Frances was proceeded in death by her parents, Albin and Estella Wagenseller, Brothers Bud and George Wagenseller. Frances is survived by a sister Kathyrn Wagenseller; Children, Deborah Hurlburt-Baab (Rick Baab), Dwight Hurlburt (Polly); Grandchildren, Cassandra R. Lough (Tom Lough); 3 Great Grandchildren, Chase, Colin, Savannah; Grandson, Todd James Melchior (Mary) and Great Grandchild, Opie.
