Keith A. Upshur

Keith Alan Upshur, 50, of Portsmouth died Monday April 25, 2016 at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI. Keith was born August 9, 1965 in Newport, RI, he was the son of Lillian (Addison) Morais of Middletown, RI and the late Dumas Upshur and Albert Morais. Keith grew up Newport, and served in the United States National Guard. He was well known when he worked for several years at the Newport Stop and Shop. He previously worked at Coldstone Creamery in Newport and Hugo Key Construction. Most recently, he helped care for the William Wood Prince estate in Newport. He enjoyed recording music in his free time with DJ Novastarr. He was a devoted Patriots and Red Sox fan.He is survived by his mother Lillian (Addison) Morais and his children, Nathaniel Zebrowski of Georgia, Keith Schwartz of Arizona, Tyler, Kyle and Dylan Schwartz of Massachusetts, Hannah, Noah, and Jonathan Upshur of Woonsocket, RI, and Arron and Ella Upshur of Portsmouth. He also leaves his stepsons Deion Jarrabet currently stationed in Georgia and Eddie Jarrabet of Florida, and 13 grandchildren.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at 11:00am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Washington Street, Newport, RI.
