Kelli Jean Kulcsar
January 31, 1979 - February 2, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kelli Jean Kulcsar, who left us on February 2nd, 2025 at the age of 46. Born on January 31st, 1979, in Barberton, Ohio, Kelli was a bright and compassionate soul who touched the lives of many with her intelligence, creativity, and humor.
Kelli excelled academically and musically from an early age, attending Isham Elementary and graduating with honors from Wadsworth High School in 1997. She pursued her passion for science at the University of Akron, where she studied chemical engineering and played the oboe in the Akron University Concert Band.
A true lover of knowledge and the arts, Kelli found joy in science, astronomy, music, and all forms of creative expression. Whether she was exploring the outdoors, crafting, or spending time in the pool, she embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. Her sharp wit and love of laughter were evident in her playful banter, especially when it came to making fun of the Cleveland Browns.
Kelli was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Charles P. Kulcsar, Mary Smith Brinkman, and Jack W. Smith. She is survived by her loving partner, Shawn LaGray; her devoted parents, Charles A. Kulcsar and Jean A. Smith; her cherished grandmother, Margaret Rakoci; her son, Tyler Kulcsar (Liz Dunn); her sister, Laura Kulcsar (Doug Gallo); and her adored niece and nephew, Aurora and Lucas Gallo.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Calling hours will be 2-4pm Saturday, February 15 at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio. A celebration of Kelli's life will be held at the Rittman MooseLodge, 12527 Sheets Rd Rittman, OH 44270 following calling hours. In lieu of flowers, listen to your favorite song, plant flowers, and cherish those around you.
