It is with heavy hearts that we share the details of the funeral services for Kelly Aughtwell Hand III, who passed away on March 8th. Kelly was born in Birmingham, AL on March 6th, 1958.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kelly Aughtwell Hand Jr. and Carolyn Hand, sister Cynthia Rogers, and brother-in-law Dale M. Rogers Jr. He is survived by his wife Jewel Hand, daughter Kristin Hand (Kyle), son Sean Hand (Caitlin), grandchildren Makayla, Jayden, and Kennedy, sister Catherine Hand, brother Jason Hand (Julie), nephews Joshua, Joseph, and Mickey, great niece Aubrey, mother-in-law Lory Bernardo, 2 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, and nephews and nieces in the Philippines.
Kelly was a passionate sports fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons. He loved to watch games with family and friends and was known to get quite vocal when he disagreed with calls made by referees. Kelly was a master of making Alabama tacos and banana pudding, which he often prepared for family gatherings. He loved dancing and water sports and was a certified master scuba diver.
The funeral services for Kelly will be held at McDonald and Son funeral home in Cumming, GA. A viewing will be held on March 14th between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on March 15th at 11:00 AM. A social gathering for friends and family will be held at the funeral home after the service between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM
