At the age of 62 years, Kelvin Jerome Hill, Sr., one of our heroic United States Navy Veterans, passed away on June 28, 2025 in Orlando, Florida. Over the years, he experienced multiple illnesses which lead to this incurable end result. His transition to heaven was peaceful with his immediate family at his hospital bedside. Kelvin will truly be missed here in the earthly realm by his family and friends. But cherishable memories are left in the hearts of each surviving family member(s) as well as close friends to carry until they meet with him again.

On August 27, 1962, a baby boy name Kelvin J. Hill was born to Eugene and Rosie Hill who preceded him in death. At a young age, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Kelvin has many siblings that predecease him in death as well - brothers: James Hill, Eugene Hill, Jr., Jacob Hill, and Rubin Hill; sisters: Rosie Lee Hill, Alberta Manuel, Dorothy Wilderness, Hazel Moore, Ruthie Lee Phillips, Velma Hill, and Betty J. Brown; - ex-wife: Micheal “Wiley” Hill. He is survived by his children: Kaneatra Hill - eldest daughter, Kelvin Hill, Jr. - eldest son both of Orlando, FL, Telvin Hill - youngest son of Parma, MO; grandchildren: Shamara (Morgan) Hill, Shanel Calixte, Elijah Hill, Kingston Calixte, and Jasiah Hill; great-grandchild: Kai Hill all of Orlando, FL; brothers: Joseph Hill of New Madrid, MO, Jerry Hill of Mentone, CA; sisters: Rose M (Arthur) Spicer of St. Louis, MO, Lyndora (Ronnie) Hughes of Cape Girardeau, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, and many friends.

Kelvin completed many goals in life which included graduating from New Madrid County Central High School; he became a proud father; he enlisted into the United States Navy; and married his high school sweetheart, Micheal Wiley. Kelvin Sr. did his last duty assignment on the USS YOSEMITE (AD-19) as a Postal Clerk. Approximately, ten - fifteen medals, badges, citations, and ribbons were awarded for decoration to this family man during his ten year service in the navy. He and his family traveled to the Philippines Island where they lived a couple of years on the Subic Naval Base. Returning to the states they resided at Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida. Employment with the United Postal Service was granted to him as a civilian until he began dealing with health issues. Kelvin Jerome Hill, Sr. enjoyed traveling, networking/meeting people, and shindigs throughout his lifetime.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Pilgrim’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn, Missouri with Pastor Darryl Minner officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sand Hill Cemetery in New Madrid with full military honors. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
