With a laughter of joyful melody and a chuckle that could lift the spirits of anyone around him, Mr. Kelvin Wright departed this heavenly earth, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He leaves to cherish his remarkable memory, three brothers Everett Wright and Tim Wright of
Decatur, Georgia; Derek (Denise) Wright of Atlanta, Georgia; Aunt, Verna Jefferson of Atlanta, Georgia and Annie Maude Jefferson of
Decatur, Georgia and a host of cousins, family, and friends. Kelvin was born on Friday, September 16, 1960, in Atlanta, Georgia. The second of four children born to Charlie Wright and Mildred Jefferson Wright, he was a lifelong resident of
Decatur, Georgia. He graduated from Avondale High School in 1979. After graduating from high school, Kelvin started working part-time at Decatur Auto Seat Covers of
Decatur, Georgia. It was there that he discovered his love for cars, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. Known for his artistic skill and creativity, Kelvin often performed car modifications and repairs himself, earning a reputation as a talented and resourceful person. Kelvin received Christ in his life early on in life and was a member of Newbirth Missionary Baptist Church of
Decatur, Georgia. There, he found spiritual fulfillment and community. Kelvin was an avid sports fan who proudly supported the Atlanta teams, including the Hawks, Falcons, and Braves. In addition to his love for sports and collectibles to include baseball cards, football cards, basketball cards, comic books, science fiction movies, and action figures; he was a gifted artist who enjoyed sketching portraits and drawings in his spare time. Through his enjoyment of art, Kelvin expressed his creativity through pencil and paper. During his early years, Kelvin was employed at The Siemens company. Here, he worked in the warehouse as a forklift operator. Kelvin took pride in his job and was a dedicated, dependable and reliableemployee. Outside of work, he was a devoted collector and entrepreneur, which in particular, loved sports memorabilia and science fiction action figures. His enthusiasm for sports memorabilia and sci-fi action figures led him to open a store inside the Candler Road Flea Market. Eventually, he transitioned to online sales through eBay, where he continued to pursue his hobby and passion until his final days. A private and introspective soul, Kelvin faced life's challenges quietly and with strength. He was a thoughtful listener, always ready to offer insightful feedback when you spoke with him. His laughter-warm, full, and unforgettable-could fill a room and lift the spirits of anyone around him. Kelvin's laughter will be deeply missed and resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Kelvin will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering dedication to the things he loved, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
