Ken Gabler, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

He was born November 24, 1930 to Rev. Carl and Mabel (Hansen) Gabler in St. Louis, Missouri.

On July 20, 1957, Ken celebrated what would become the beginning of his lifelong journey by marrying the love of his life, Helen Isaacs.

Ken found his greatest happiness and sense of accomplishment in his family. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he considered his role as a husband, father, and grandfather to be his most important.

Ken was a faithful member of Ashland United Methodist Church. Every Sunday morning, after service, he could be found sipping coffee with friends.

Music was Ken's passion, and his talent with the trumpet in his younger years led him on an adventure of melodies and memories. As a member of the Barbershop Quartet and Chorus, Ken earned the nickname "Mr. Easy Street". His pride in performing for the U.S. troops on U.S.O. Tour was matched only by his joy in singing at countless weddings and funerals, touching the hearts of many with his gift.

After Retirement from KFEQ Radio advertising and sales of many years, it brought new hobbies and interests to Ken. He enjoyed assembling puzzles, which would often become gifts for his loved ones. Fishing offered him peaceful moments by the water, and his enthusiasm for old car shows was a testament to his appreciation for the classics. Ken and Helen enjoyed going on family camping trips. After retirement, they traveled across the country in their motor home, exploring and making memories together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Carl and Mabel Gabler and sister, Marlene Strodtman (Jim).

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Helen Gabler; children, Greg Gabler (Kathy), Susan Alexander (Scott) and Lisa Kent (Scott); grandchildren, Mike Gabler (Lacey), Krystal Lisenbee (Aaron), Josh Gabler (Tara), Tyler Kent (Kaydee) and Jordan Bergley (Chris); and 13 great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mosaic Life Care Hospice.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 28, Ashland United Methodist Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Ashland United Methodist Church.
