Ken Herb

Kenneth Ernest Herb, Jr. 64, of Finksburg, Md, passed away on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. Ken was born on March 12th 1961 in Baltimore, Md to the late Sarah Alice (Strohecker) and Kenneth Ernest Herb, Sr.
Ken was a 1980 graduate of Parkville High School and went on to attend and play football for Towson University. He had a long successful career in retail management. Beyond his professional life, Ken gave generously of his time and talents to causes close to his heart. He was a former member of Mt. Nebo Masonic Lodge, where he upheld the principles of brotherhood and community service.
His commitment to mentoring young people was most evident in his role as an assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 395. There, he guided many scouts on their journeys toward personal growth and leadership, earning recognition in the Order of the Arrow for his dedication and service. An avid outdoorsman, Ken also served as a board member of the United Coon Hunters Association, in Hampstead, Md.
Ken's generosity and love for family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He loved food and was happiest when cooking for others. His chili and crab soup will be missed by all. His second favorite pastime was fishing. That famous Ken Herb smile flashed every time he told a fishing story. His best fishing partner was his son, Paul. There was always a heated competition for who caught the biggest fish between them.
Ken is survived by his son, Paul (Kate) Herb, granddaughter, Cora Herb, his sisters, Donna Moffett and LuAnn Connor, his niece, Denise Basil-Younkin, cousin, Jack Kehres, and his ex-wife, Lisa Arcuri. In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his cousin, Russell Schwalm.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 13th, 2025 from 6-9pm at the Eline Funeral Home 2901 Bloom Road, Finksburg, MD. A funeral service will be on Saturday, June 14th at 10am at Eline Funeral Home in Finksburg. Interment to follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, 5598 Trumps Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21206
