Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc.. on Feb. 19, 2026.
Ken "Robert" Tillery, the son of Dreama Garnes and the late James Garnes was born in the Bronx on February 5th 1973.
As a child his Christian upbringing began by family members gathering together at the home of the family's matriarch, his maternal Grandmother the late Pastor Florence Fountain. They would gather at Fountain of Life church to sing gospel songs and have informal bible studies. During this time as they were learning about God, they were also developing their musical gifts. On Sunday mornings and sometimes Sunday afternoons those gatherings would eventually turn into services. While some blended their voices together to bring forth the choir others would have accompanied them on instruments they learned to play. Robert was the drummer. His love for music and the word of God began in that apartment but never left his life.
Robert continued his love of music by becoming a DJ and would travel around the area doing parties. He also worked in delivery services as massager and later for Amazon. Robert always loved being active and on the move no matter what he was doing.
Around 2015 Robert began dealing with some health issues and he felt that his life was missing something. That led him to reach out to a friend for prayer and just to talk. During that conversation Robert rededicated his Life back to Christ and begin faithfully walking with him. He was introduced to Pastor Harper though his morning impact pray call that Robert listened to every morning. He started attending Men's fellowship in order to be around other men of faith that could encourage him as he was growing in the Lord. After attending the fellowships and services at New Convent Temple Robert was happy and felt at home.
Robert was baptized and became a member of New Convent Temple in 2017. He was an active faithful member of the church and served in the men's fellowship and outreach. However, his greatest joy came from his service on the usher board. He would do whatever was necessary to be on his post until he could no longer do so due to his health. Anytime that he was there he would service in whatever way he could.
In 2025 Robert decided to move to
Stroudsburg, PA to be closer to his 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Even in his illness he wanted to spend as much time with them as he could. He was blessed by the love and support of all of his family both near and far as he continued his fight. He loved to read his bible, daily bread, watch his favorites shows and sports along with listen to music, scriptures and services. Most of all he loved eating. There was not much he didn't like but he always had to have his desserts.
Robert's greatest love was God, his family, church and friends. On Friday, February 13th, 2026, Robert peacefully went home to glory.
Robert is survived and will be remembered by his significant other Shenequa Mack of
