Kendal Lee "Kenny" Huckbay, 68, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away January 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Bakersfield, California, to Franklin and Sinda Huckbay and raised in Norwalk, California, Kenny lived a life full of passion, humor, and deep connections. He graduated from Excelsior High School, pursued trade school, and became a dedicated truck driver, working for "Trucks for You" and the City of Long Beach.
Kenny's journey with his beloved wife, Joy, began in a serendipitous way when his brother Verlon introduced them in Corona, California. Their love quickly blossomed, and they were married on Memorial Day, May 31, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was the beginning of a beautiful life together, filled with cherished memories. They soon started their family, welcoming two children, Franklin and Sinda, who were lovingly named in honor of Kenny's parents. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and the joy of being a family.
Kenny's life was characterized by his love for classic cars and trucks. A true enthusiast, he cherished loud engines, roaring pipes, and the thrill of restoration. Kenny was also a fan of western films, particularly those starring John Wayne and Randolph Scott, and had a great appreciation for humor, enjoying jokes and the antics of "The 3 Stooges."
He was a man of the outdoors, enjoying camping and spending time in nature with his loved ones. Kenny was a member of Falcon Club and the NRA. With a love for the Lord, and a love for his family, He was someone who told it like it was, offering honesty and kindness in equal measure, always willing to lend a helping hand.
A tough football player in his school days and a Little League coach, Kenny loved sharing his wisdom and passion with others. He also found joy in simple pleasures, such as his mom's fried chicken, hot apple pie with ice cream, and time spent with those he loved.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Joy L. Huckbay, son, Franklin Dwight Huckbay and daughter, Sinda Ann Huckbay, all of Fort Gibson, OK; brothers, Benjamin F. Huckbay of Riverside, CA; Randall S. Huckbay of Fort Gibson, OK; Richard G. Huckbay of Gore, OK; sisters, Donna Mannon of Gore, OK, Pamela J Martin of Lake Stevens, WA, Susan Janis Brown of Tomball, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Anna Mae Huckbay; brother Verlon Moore of Riverside, CA, and nephew Chris Brown.
A visitation with family receiving friends will be held 5PM-7PM, Friday, January 24, 2025 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson.
