Nancy Lorene Harris, 72, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma was born April 5, 1953 to Leonard and Joan (Goad) Griffith in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her bedside. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who graduated high school with distinction before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Jerry Harris, on October 6, 1971, at the Old Mission Church in Fort Gibson, a cherished union that lasted 53 years, eleven months, and nineteen days. A passionate homemaker and nurturing caregiver, she selflessly took exceptional care of her family and friends, always prioritizing their comfort and happiness. Nancy had a talent for sewing and delighted in creating beautiful pieces, while also cherishing the playful moments spent with her grandkids. Her joyful spirit shone brightly during family trips to Branson, where laughter and love filled the air. An immaculate homemaker, she meticulously maintained her home and took great pride in her lush garden. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and her love for the season was evident, with a whimsical Santa Claus in every room, spreading joy and festive cheer. Nancy will be missed by many. She is now reunited with her parents, Leonard and Joan Griffith; and her sisters, Elizabeth Griffith, and Sandy York. Nancy is lovingly survived by her husband, Jerry Dale Harris of the home; daughter, Shawana Ann Brown and husband Kevin Brown of Salina, OK; her sister, Carol Easley; her grandsons, Tyler and wife Morgan Brown, and Jacob and wife Brittany Orman; granddaughter, Allison and husband Josh Didlot; and her great-grandchildren, Kasen Didlot and Everleigh Orman. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held 1PM, Monday, October 6, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fort Gibson with Brother Bobby Harris officiating and Mr. Don Perry eulogizing. The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Cherokees for their excellent care of Ms Nancy. The family of Nancy Lorene Harris has entrusted her care, service, and cremation to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fort Gibson. 918-478-2555.
