Kendan Lee Saplut

Kendan "Big Jody" Saplut passed away unexpectedly, far too soon, on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the age of 15. Kendan was a student at Denham Springs High School who filled every room with his infectious personality. He loved playing video games with his cousins, friends, and siblings, as well as cooking, singing, swimming, and-above all-spending time with his family. Kendan's creativity shone through in the songs he wrote and the recipes he dreamed up, and his joyful spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. His inspiration has brought his family and friends together in his honor. He is survived by his parents, Jody L. Morris and Mindy Saplut; siblings, Jacob, Kobe, Khloe, and Kyleigh Morris; grandparents, Donna Posey Morris, Lisa Trosclair, and L.E. Jones; his aunts and uncles; his beloved cousins, Jaden, Kent, Rori, Piper, Mary, Mark, Nathan, and Blayne; as well as many other relatives and friends. Kendan is preceded in death by Marcus Saplut, Jr. Kendan's siblings loved him immensely and described him as,"The best brother one can ask for" - Khloe; and "Kendan always made me laugh. Anything he would say would make me laugh. He would always be laughing. He was so nice to people. He loved to cook, and everything he cooked was delicious. Him and I had a fight with Jacob and Jaden. He was having so much fun. Kendan did not want to go to beach without me" - Kobe. Kendan will forever be loved. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Christ's Community Church in Denham Springs from 5 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 8 AM until the funeral service begins at 10 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
