Kenneth Leroy Anspach, age 91 returned to his heavenly home on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Oregon, IL at Serenity Hospice and Home. Kenneth was blessed with a large and loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He was born July 16, 1934 in Sterling, Illinois. He was the son of Ronald Leroy Anspach and Virginia Lee Amsbaugh. He graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1952. Kenneth married Margaret Ann Engelkens on August 12, 1955. He retired from Illinois Bell Telephone in Rockford, Illinois. Kenneth was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Oregon, Illinois. He was predeceased by his wife, parents and son, Gary Lee Anspach, and his brother, William Anspach and sister, Ronetta Smith. With the help of his loving wife, Margaret, he raised four children: Julie (Robert) Haskins of The Villages, Florida; David (Mary) Anspach of La Valle, Wisconsin; and Diane (Mark) Williams of San Tan Valley, Arizona; grandchildren: Kyler Anspach, Thera Goff, Jennifer Speer, Amanda Calhoun, Shannon Mitchell, Jacob Ross, Adam Ross, Kassi Larson, Brett Anspach, Stephanie Anspach, Kharissa Harris, Khalena Chapple, Anthony Williams and Khindra Kuhlmey; great grandchildren: Harmony, Trey, Haylee, Camryn, Morgan, Reagan, Jacob, Jarett, Dylan, Rylie, Jace, Braxon, Evan, Liam, Landon, Lynsey, Dylan, Ace, Kai, & Rowan; great great grandchildren: Brynlee, Elowen, & Charlie. Kenneth is survived by his sisters, Mary Ellen Hampton and Luzetta Maxwell. Kenneth loved watching sports of all kinds. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He also was awarded a lifetime pass for sports from his favorite high school team, the Byron Tigers, where he had been attending events for over 50 years cheering on his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kenneth and Margaret loved to go camping and for many years were the camp hosts at Lowden State Park. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Ebenezer Reformed Church, 2997 North German Church Road near Oregon, Illinois with Rev. Josiah Youngquist pastor of the church officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Serenity Hospice and Home, 1658 Illinois Route 2 South near Oregon, IL.
