George Kenneth Beasley was born June 25th, 1936 in Adrian, GA to Samuel Jordan Beasley and Myrtice Schwalls Beasley. He attended ABAC College for a short time and then transferred to the University of Georgia in Athens. He met the love of his life, Neita there and they were married September 5th, 1958, after a short courtship. While at UGA, he pursued a B.S. degree in Agriculture and a minor in Animal Husbandry. After marriage, it wasn't long before Darlene, his daughter was born and 16 months later, Sam, his son. During this time, Kenneth worked for the University Extension Service and continued school to obtain his Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics.

He was assigned to Lanier County, in the early 60's as their extension agent where he was a member of the Lion's Club , and then transferred to Thomas County to serve as their extension agent where he was a member of the Rotary Club.

In 1978, Kenneth accepted the Extension Agent job for Lumpkin County and moved his family to Dahlonega in 1979. Kenneth truly embraced the Lumpkin County people and the community as his own. He loved north Georgia.

He was always busy and raised chickens in addition to his job until his retirement in 1993.

He and his wife Neita traveled extensively, including several continents and many ventures here in the USA. A most memorable one was driving to Alaska, with a camper and his two grandsons in tow.

Kenneth was always adventurous and loved to work. He kept a beautiful garden and loved to share his bounty with all! He was loved and respected by many. He was a faithful follower of Christ and attended the Dahlonega Methodist Church. He enjoyed his Prime time Sunday school class very much.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 67 years, Neita, his daughter Darlene, his son Sam (Vickie), his grandsons Paul (Casadie) and Patrick (Sarah), and his great grand daughter Ada-Mae.
