Kenneth "Ken" W. Calliham, 59, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Trenton, NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his residence with his wife by his bedside.
He was the loving husband of Tamara Montgomery for 11 years. Ken was born in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Jack Alvin Calliham and the late Judy Ann (McDougal) Calliham.
At the age of 16, after excelling in band and sports, he graduated from Hershey High School with high honors, class of 1981. Ken then attended Penn State University studying for a degree in computer science.
In 1983 Ken joined the New Jersey National Guard. He served in the New Jersey National Guard for two years, then worked as a helicopter repairman for the United States Army active duty and then entered the Army Special Forces. While mobilized in Germany, he created and instructed a helicopter search and rescue program for the European forces. He was mobilized to several locations including Iraq serving in the Desert Shield/ Desert Storm where he received many awards including two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars for valor.He was extremely skilled at identifying US and foreign aircraft and vehicles.
After leaving the military, using the GI bill, Ken graduated from electricians' school and was the owner and operator of an electrician's business in Trenton, NJ. After he sold his business he then was employed as builder of surveillance vehicles for the United States government and the local police municipalities for the former Specialty Vehicle Solutions in Trenton, NJ and for the former Sirchie Vehicle Division, Medford, NJ.
After his retirement in 2018, Ken was an avid reader of military biographies and US history. He was also an avid Penn State fan, enjoyed automotive mechanics, building model ships and playing war games on his PS2 video game.
Ken was a hardworking, considerate individual who was very detail-oriented and produced high quality work. He enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends with handyman projects. He had a special affection for animals especially dogs.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

Kenneth, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
