Kenneth Carlton "Carl" Holt, Jr. of Lumber City, passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 58 after a brief illness. Born on November 14, 1966, in McRae, GA, Carl was a devoted member of his community and a loving family man.
With a career as a frame shop supervisor with Diamond Builders, Carl was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. His commitment extended beyond his professional life; he was instrumental in the founding of the Horse Creek Fire Department, where he served as fire chief, showcasing his leadership and community spirit.
Carl was cherished for his good-natured personality, always looking after everyone else and putting his family's needs above his own. He loved his family immensely and took pride in his role as a husband, father, brother, and especially as a Papa. His greatest accomplishments included watching his family grow and thrive, which brought him immense joy and satisfaction.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Yeomans Holt of Lumber City; his son, Kenneth "Kenny" (Deanna) Holt, III of Jacksonville; his daughter, Jena Holt (Kaleb) McDonald of Broxton; brother, Willie Swain of Lumber City; sister, Teresa McDonald of Birmingham, AL; and four grandchildren, Alayna Holt, Ethan Holt, Eli Holt, and Jaxon McDonald. Carl also leaves behind his beloved four-legged companions, Dixie and Maggie, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will miss his warm spirit.
Carl is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Carlton Holt, Sr. and Joyce Ann Brewer Holt, who have welcomed him into their arms.
Visitation for Carl will be held on January 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae. The funeral service will take place the following day, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at the same location. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lumber City. Carl Holt will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his community contributions, and his genuine kindness. He leaves a legacy of compassion and strength that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
