He and Rhonda served as the Football and Cheer Directors with the Goodlettsville Trojans for 10 years at Moss Wright Park, where he also coached coed softball teams with his best friend Jeff Brake. He went on to coach football at TW Hunter Middle School and Beech High School, and he spent his free time enjoying hobbies such as golfing and bowling. During his retirement, he spent time enjoying his grandbabies and attending NASCAR races in Bristol with his long-time best friend, John Taylor.
His last days were spent at home surrounded by family and friends who showered him with love. He passed peacefully in his home with his wife by his side.
