Kenneth Robert Freeman, born 10/1/1953 passed away after a 10-month battle with a rare blood cancer known as Waldonstrom Macroglobulinemia, Monday, February 14, 2022. He is survived by his wife Mitzie, his daughters Jessica and her husband Sean Ferguson of Madrid, NY and Maegan and her fiancé Troy Hiller of DeLancey, NY; and five grandchildren: Iliana, Keili, Aidan, Caitlyn and Liam. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Warriner (Ron Warriner (D)), brothers Larry and David Freeman (Deb Freeman). He is preceded in death by his parents Norma Jean & Walter Freeman, and brothers Don & Timmy Freeman.
Ken was raised in Jasper, NY and worked on his parents' dairy farm until he went to SUNY Morrisville. After graduating he worked for Kodak in the Rochester area, and then moved to the Norwich area, where he worked for Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals and then Proctor & Gamble Pharmaceuticals where he worked for 32 years. He made his home in Oxford, NY for 41 years. After retiring, Ken spent more time traveling with Mitzie and took time to learn to trade in the stock market.
Ken's joy was his family. He was the fairest person I've ever met, and he made you a better person. He took great pride in cultivating a wonderful garden each year. He enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing and loved to cook (always working on a "special sauce"). He had a great passion for music, especially music history. If you knew Ken, you know there is so much more about him – no words to describe how wonderful a person he was. A beautiful person, amazing husband and father and Pop-pop.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Jude, Waldonstrom Macroglobulinemia Foundation, or the American Cancer Society.
