Kenneth Eldon Hatton, 82, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Lexington, KY. Born April 12, 1941 to the late Eldon and Pauline Hatton in Kenton County, Kenny grew up around Nicholasville, KY.
He was married for over 60 years to his beloved wife, Jelima, who preceded him to Heaven in 2022. Kenny is survived by his two boys, Greg (Becky) of Lancaster, KY; and Jeff (Jana) of Lexington, KY. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren called him Pa: Brooke (Scott), Dustin (Lacy), Brittany (Noah), Sawyer (Maura), Hagan, Sullivan, Oakley, Jack, Conner, Charlie, Shylin, Sarah, Allie, Elijah and Emma. He is also survived by siblings Carl (Sue) Hatton and Jan (Tommy) Kendrick; and many nieces and nephews.
His family will tell you there has never been a finer man than Kenneth Eldon Hatton. Always quick to tell a story, lend a hand, and take care of family, Kenny spent much of his life doing for others. We are all better people for knowing him. Kenny retired from the Lexington Police Department in 1978. Visitation will be Monday, March 4 from 10:30am-12:30pm, with services beginning at 12:30pm at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home at 3421 Harrodsburg Road. Rev. Brian Kendrick and Rev. Wayne Holcomb will officiate. A private family burial will follow.
